Have any of you ever been asked to do something, but you didn’t have all of the details laid out in front of you? You knew what step one was, but you didn’t have steps two through five. Imagine how Abram must’ve felt when God told him to “leave your native country...and go to the land that I will show you.”
“Whoa! Wait just a minute here God. Go to what land? Where exactly is it? How long will it take? What will I find when I get there? Besides, I like being right here. Why do I have to move?”
Or do we respond like Abram? “So Abram departed as the Lord instructed." Period. He had such great faith in the Lord, that he didn’t need steps two through five laid out before he took step one.
Neither did Abram question God's instructions, even though it meant leaving his family, his home, and his neighborhood. Abram was obedient, trusted God, and went to "a land that I will show you."
May I be obedient and have faith like Abram.
The Lord said to Abram, "Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father's family, and go to the land that I will show you...So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed."
Genesis 12:1, 4a
For my journaling, I stamped the edge of my Bible page with the Love Your Neighbor set using permanent black ink. Where the trees and the houses overlapped, I created a mask of the image, so I could stamp a second time and achieve the depth in the design.
I used watercolor pencils and a water brush to color the design. The words “go” and “leave” are hand lettered.
There are so many uses for this set. Stop by the Sweet ‘n Sassy pages on Instagram and Facebook for more great ideas. To get these cute stamps for yourself, hop over the Sweet ‘n Sassy website where you’ll find them, and many others, to brighten your day!
Very clever! Love that you used the margin horizontally. A fabulous page, Gayle. Love it! Appreciate your message as well. We do well to live light and always be ready to go where He leads.
