"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him."
Romans 8: 15-17

Romans 8 is just so much goodness wrapped into one chapter. These verses are ones that soak inside our hearts. Heirs. Heirs with Christ. God didn't just want us with him, but he wanted us to be inheritors along side Jesus. That's amazing. Because God could have just stopped at salvation making us right and bringing us to him, but He went further. He made us co-heirs with Christ.

Heir: to inherit and continue the legacy of a predecessor

I think it's important to remember that "continue a legacy" part of the definition. Because the scripture also says, "fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him..." Our work doesn't stop with receiving Christ as our Savior. In fact, that's the beginning. Walking the path with Jesus isn't always sunshine and rainbows. We will face trials and hardships, scrutiny and judgment, but walking with Jesus through all of it makes the journey better. Our inheritance as children of God looks a little different, we don't just sit back and let it flow. Instead, we have a job to do and He has chosen us as his ambassadors for others to receive this inheritance.

I used three different stamp sets for this bible page. The crown is from "Child of the King", the banner is from "Worthy King", and the wording co-heir is the "Mini Grunge Alpha." all links to stamps are listed below. :)
